Reiki is a Japanese natural healing technique that was rediscovered in the late 19th century by the Japanese physician Mikao Usui. It is an art that is passed on from Master to student. The term Reiki (pronounced Ray-Kee) comes from two Japanese words - Rei, meaning Universal and Ki, meaning Life Force Energy. The term "Reiki" is used to describe both the energy and the Usui system of using it. It is based on the belief that we are all born with the innate ability to heal ourselves. It is a technique that is used for stress reduction and relaxation. Through this process, healing is promoted. Reiki is the perfect system of healing. It possesses its own "intelligence". This "intelligence" is the Universal Life-Force Energy that is provided for this unique system of healing. The practitioner enables this energy healing to occur. Reiki is able to relieve physical, emotional and mental pain, as well as, encourage spiritual clarity. Reiki can also speed up the healing process and balance the body's natural energy. We don't second-guess Reiki . . . We simply Do Reiki. Reiki will not interfere with any other modality of healing including any form of medication. It will actually help to strengthen the efficacy of other methods and modalities of treatments including but not exclusive to: Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Tai Chi and Yoga. Three Levels of Reiki Reiki is traditionally taught in the West in three levels. After each Attunement you will receive a Certificate and Lineage. Level I - This level generally includes the Reiki Principles, History and Chakra opening exercises. You will also discover why you get sick and how you can heal yourself. You will learn how to give a Reiki treatment to yourself and others. You will then receive the Level I Attunement. This level heals the Physical. After the Attunement to Level I you will have time to practice Reiki on and with the other students in class. Level II - This level goes much deeper into the healing process, focusing on Mental and Emotional healing. By focusing on these aspects that cause illness and disease, you in turn, will be able to heal yourself on a much deeper level. You will receive ancient sacred Reiki symbols, learn about their meaning and practice how to use them. You will also be taught how to Distant Reiki (sending Reiki to people and/or situations from a distance). After the Attunement to Level II you will have time to practice Reiki on and with the other students in class. Level III (ART-Advanced Reiki Training and Master/Teacher Level) - This level generally includes the Usui Master Symbol (Empowerment Symbol), its meaning and application. Included in this level is the Advanced Reiki Training as well. This level continues the healing process by being able to have the capability to heal Spiritually, both to yourself and others. In this level, you will also learn scanning and beaming techniques. You will be given the basis for how to teach others. You will be Attuned to Level III (Master/Teacher). This level completes mastery of the Reiki energies. You will learn how to use the Usui/Tibetan Master's symbols, how to pass Attunements on to others and much more. This level is the final touch to the others . . . Spiritual Healing. After the Attunement to Level III you will have time to practice Reiki on and with the other students in the class. What Is An Attunement? An Attunement empowers people to use Reiki on themselves and others. The Attunement will raise your vibrational levels to facilitate a connection between you and the Reiki source. Attunements are given by a Reiki Master/Teacher the students during a meditation in the final class. How Is Reiki Done? Reiki is a healing approach that use the gentle laying on of hands. This light touch is used by the practitioner to channel the Reiki healing energy to the recipient (client). If you are not one for touch, although this can be very healing in and of itself, then the practitioner can keep his/her hand one or more inches away from the body. Either way, Reiki is just as effective. How Does Reiki Help Me? Reiki heals the cause of the imbalance. Whenever the cause is healed, the effect will disappear. For example: There may have been times when you did not even realize that you have achieved any results. Keep in mind that the results may not be apparent immediately, but they are there. The greatest thing about Reiki is that it can NEVER hurt, but rather only help to achieve results. Please remember, you were given the "natural ability" to heal yourself. The Reiki practitioner is the vehicle to get you to that healing place. Reiki is effective for people of all ages. It's great for pets too! What Might I Feel During And After A Treatment? Everybody is different. So every body will have a different experience. The only thing that I can almost guarantee is that you will feel a warm sensation at the time of treatment. Afterwards you may feel a bit chilly. This is great because this means that the energy is working and healing is taking place.
